Heading to Rodeo Nationals Journal

Three talented athletes are heading to the National Finals Junior Rodeo on June 27 in Gallup, New Mexico. One of those athletes, Wyatt Lytton, was kind enough to spend some time writing a journal on how the entire team is doing while preparing for nationals. Here is his first entry.

Well, it is a fun time for all of us and being excited isn't even the half of how we feel. Things are going well and we are off in a couple of days to go for our National Finals Junior Rodeo trip to Gallup, New Mexico.

It has been a lot of hard work and we are just so pleased to represent our State of Montana at such a wonderful event. They call it the world's largest junior rodeo. It is true. It feels like the National Finals Rodeo in Vegas to us.

As for me, I have been practicing getting ready for this rodeo. I am roping lots and I entered a rodeo last weekend with my partner Colton Johns of Deer Lodge.

We did very well at the rodeo. It was a great weekend of roping and a good way to head into the finals. We are hoping to do a great job of representing our State and doing what is necessary to make a good run in each or our events.

We all are doing what is necessary in preparing for the finals with our practicing. We all have worked hard to get to this point and it truly is a huge honor for all of us!

For all of us heading to Gallup who are on the team, Wyatt, Abbey and Will, we are hoping for good weather, good runs for both our horses and ourselves and also bringing that championship home to our state.

We will see what we can do. We want to thank everyone for all your support to our team. It is appreciated. We will continue to keep you posted from the road to the National Junior High Rodeo Finals.
