State softball schedules

The Montana High School Association announced Tuesday that the Class B-C state softball tournament will be played in Great Falls.

The tournament was originally scheduled for Glasgow, but wet fields and an unfavorable weather forecast forced MHSA officials to move the tournament.

The tournament will take place at the Multi-Sport Complex starting Thursday.

Miles City will host Class A state softball, while Billings is the site for Class AA. Those tournaments also begin on Thursday and run through Saturday.

Rain caused cancellatgion of the Class AA and A state tournaments in 1996.

State A

Byes: Polson (17-4), Billings Central, Belgrade (18-3-1), Frenchtown (20-2).

Thursday
10 a.m. - Anaconda (10-11) vs. Lewistown (9-6)
10 a.m. - Columbia Falls (14-4) vs. Corvallis (9-12-1)
Noon - Laurel (11-4-1) vs. Libby (14-8)
Noon - Butte Central (16-5) vs. Hardin (5-9)
2 p.m. - Polson (17-4) vs. Anaconda-Lewistown winner, second round
2 p.m. - Billings Central vs. Columbia Falls-Corvallis winner, second round
4 p.m. - Belgrade (18-3-1) vs. Laurel-Libby winner, second round
4 p.m. - Butte Central-Hardin winner vs. Frenchtown (20-2), second round
