Vikings rout Seeley-Swan

-By Dylan Kitzan

Charlo clinched a playoff berth with a 50-8 victory over Seeley-Swan on Wednesday night at home. Thanks to three rushing touchdowns by sophomore Jacen Peterson and two touchdowns by quarterback Tra Ludeman, the Vikings were able to jump out to a 42-0 halftime lead and never looked back.

The win improved their record to 7-2 on the year, including six consecutive victories to close out the regular season.

Ludeman got the Vikings on the board first with a 37-yard touchdown run. Then Peterson ripped off two touchdown runs in the first quarter to stake the Vikings to a 20-0 after one.

Kolten Andrews opened the second quarter with an 11-yard sprint to boost the lead to 28-0. Following a Stephen Delaney interception on Seeley-Swan's next drive, Petersen found the end zone for the third time for a 34-0 edge. Ludeman added a 7-yard score halfway through the second to spot Charlo to a big 42-0 lead. Toward the end of the second quarter, coach Mike Krahn shook up the players to get some other guys some extended playing time.

Among those guys were Webb O'Neill and Danny Blevins. On the Vikings' first drive in the second-half, O'Neill and Blevins hooked up on a 41-yard pass to boost the lead to 50-0.

The defense held strong until Seeley-Swan added a late touchdown to result for the final score.

The Vikings enter the postseason playing arguably their best ball on offense and defense. Their dynamic running game and ability to stop teams from moving the football consistently make them one of Class C's most dangerous teams over the next few weeks.
