ARLEE - Two Eagle and Arlee both came to play in this district matchup. In a battle that showed that the Eagles are for real and should be feared in the upcoming district tournament, it also showed that the Warriors are among an elite level in Class C along with Charlo.
Both teams played in the first quarter with Arlee snagging a 13-12 lead thanks to two-three points from Kasey Bridgewater. Bridgewater would finish the game with 18 points, the highest total on both teams.
In the second, neither team could muster a large run against one another but there was plenty of scoring. Two Eagle got the majority of its scoring from Marcus Brown and TJ Cutfinger, while Arlee was sparked by point guard Jesse Pfau and Bridgewater and held the 33-28 lead at halftime.
Two Eagle outscored Arlee in the third quarter 17-14. In fact, they led 43-37 midway through the period before a 10-2 run by the Warriors to finish the period gave Arlee the slim 47-45 lead again. The Eagles got plenty of points from Clayton Malatare who hit two of his four three-pointers in the game.
In the fourth, Arlee outscored Two Eagle 22-15 as Pfau scored eight points in the period to help lead the Warriors to the 68-60 victory.
