Polson has historically started off the fall season slow in boys' soccer, but they are already on the right foot with a 2-2 tie in Hamilton on Tuesday.
It was a tall task for the Pirates too. Hamilton had gone undefeated in the regular season last year before two losses were given to them for using ineligible players.
Trailing 2-1 in the second half after Hamilton's Daymon Halstead scored in the 56th minute, James "The Lawman" Larson scored the chest-to-volley equalizer goal for Polson in the 75th minute.
The Pirates' other goal game off a huge punt by Goalie Clay "The Falcon" Frissell, coupled with pressure by Larson, that forced Hamilton's sweeper to try and head it to the keeper. The ball went through the keeper's hands and into the goal.
Polson now has a 10-day break in between games. They'll host Park on Saturday, Sept. 10.
