Football stats for the Northwestern A conference in football

Montana Prep Poll

Here is the Montana Prep Poll after week three for Class A.

1. Billings Central (2-0, previously first)
2. Dillon (2-0, previously third)
3. Belgrade (3-0, previously fifth)
4. Polson (3-0, previously fourth)
5. Miles City (2-0, previously unranked)

Also in the Class C poll, Charlo is ranked ninth and Arlee is receiving votes in the poll.

Now, a little later than normal but here's a breakdown of the team statistics through week 3 of the Northwestern A conference in football.

Team rushing

1. Col. Falls (99 attempts, 728 yards, 7.35 average per rush, 242.67 yards per game, 5 touchdowns)
2. Polson (119, 616, 5.18, 205.33, 4)
3. Ronan (125, 600, 4.80, 200.00, 4)
4. Libby (103, 563, 5.47, 187.67, 5)
5. Whitefish (61, 337, 5.52, 112.33, 3)

As you can see, Columbia Falls has taken the lead as the top rushing team in the league but Polson and Ronan aren't far behind. Both teams have potent running attacks with Polson's QB Vince DiGiallonardo and a stable of backs for Ronan as they're still struggling with the injury bug.

Team passing
1. Whitefish (94 attempts, 59 completions, 62.77% passing percentage, 800 yards, 3 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, 266.67 yards per game)
2 Polson (68, 38, 55.88%, 535, 3, 6, 178.33)
3 Libby (43, 19, 44.19%, 249, 5, 4, 83.00)
4 Ronan (35, 16, 45.71%, 230, 1, 4, 76.67)
5 Col. Falls (39, 14, 35.90%, 223, 4, 4, 74.33)

Whitefish in the Northwestern A version of the New England Patriots. Who needs a running game? We'll just pass, pass, pass.

Team passing defense
1. Col. Falls (82 attempts, 40 completions, 48.78% passing percentage, 393 yards, 9.83 yards per pass, 131.00 yards per game)
2. Polson (67, 32, 47.76%, 400, 12.50, 133.33)
3. Whitefish (54, 27, 50.00%, 428, 15.85, 142.67)
4. Libby (73, 32, 43.84%, 464, 14.50, 154.67)
5. Ronan (68, 32, 47.06%, 600, 18.75, 200.00)

The pass attack seems to be Ronan's weakness right now but that also has to do with so many backs being out due to injury. They have a lot of kids in the defensive backfield that haven't played there very long.

Team rushing defense
1. Polson (94 attempts, 307 yards, 3.27 average, 102.33 per game)
2. Ronan (114, 359, 3.15, 119.67)
3. Col. Falls (119, 572, 4.81, 190.67)
4. Libby (92, 609, 6.62, 203.00)
5. Whitefish (114, 837, 7.34, 279.00)

Polson and Ronan have excellent defensive lines and you can see that right here in this stat line. Both are stubborn when it comes to trying to run the ball.
