Polson - Frenchtown Volleyball Photos

(From the Daily Inter Lake)

Kenzie Clay had nine kills and Riley Kenney had eight, but it wasn't enough to overcome the slow start that eventually doomed the Polson Lady Pirates in a Northwestern A volleyball match on Saturday.

Visiting Frenchtown (2-2 overall, 2-0 league) defeated Polson (3-1, overall, 2-1 in conference) in five sets - 25-19, 25-17, 20-25, 18-25, 15-11.

"We came out really flat," said Polson coach Jan Toth.

"We let them service ace us numerous times in the first two games. We could just not pass the ball to save our lives," she said.

Shalaina Duford has 29 assists and 17 digs for Polson. Macall Banner added 13 digs and Heidi Rausch served five aces.

Kills - Frenchtown 49, Polson 39 (Kenzie Clay 9, Riley Kenney 8). Blocks - Frenchtown 13, Polson 7. Assists - Frenchtown 36, Polson 30 (Shalaina Duford 29), Digs - Frenchtown 79, Polson 75 (Duford 17, Macall Banner 13). Aces - Frenchtown 17, Polson 11 (Heidi Rausch 5)
