Ronan downs No. 3 ranked Townsend

Ronan 51, Townsend 19
Ronan came in 10-point underdogs to the No. 3 ranked team in the state and... well... took care of business.

The Chiefs racked up 318 yards on the ground while senior quarterback Robbie Gauthier notched 52 yards.

They started the game with their high-tempo offense and had themselves a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.

They would go into halftime with a 28-7 lead. A rough third quarter that saw turnovers committed by the Chiefs allowed Townsend to pull within 36-19 but that's as close as they would get. Carston Baerstch and Gauthier would both return interceptions for touchdowns to take any suspense as to the final outcome of the game.

Jake Skelton led the Chiefs in rushing with 102 yards and three touchdowns. Ronan moved to 3-0 on the season and will play at Manhattan next weekend.
