Friday Night Lights

We're getting down to the nitty-gritty of the football season with just two regular season games left. Here are the matchups this week.

(Screenshot is of Madden 2000 on the Nintendo 64. Did you own this game?)

Polson vs. Libby
This will be the first team the Pirates face that have a record of better than .500. The Loggers (4-3 overall, 2-0 conference) beat Polson (6-0 overall, 3-0 conference) up in Libby last year, which took a home playoff game away from them. Scott Wilson's players will no doubt be looking for a little revenge against the Loggers, and with the way the team has been playing this year, that may be bad news for Libby.

Ronan vs. Florence
It seems like every week the Chiefs (5-1) are playing a highly regarded and ranked opponent. It's no different with Florence (5-1), who's high-flying offense has racked up 261 points this season. They might run into a roadblock however, as Ronan has a veteran secondary that has a knack for getting key turnovers.

Charlo vs. Noxon
The Vikings (5-2) will look to continue to drive towards the postseason against Noxon (3-4), in a game that should showcase plenty of offense. Noxon scored 86 points against Seeley this season and scored 68 points against Lincoln last week. Charlo can light up the scoreboard too, and sophomore running back Jacen Peterson has looked like Adrian Peterson as of late.

Mission vs. Deer Lodge

The Bulldogs picked up their second win of the season (2-4) against Troy last week and could continue that against the 0-6 Wardens. Mission definitely had their offense humming in the first half against Troy and if they can limit turnovers, they'll be tough to beat.

Arlee vs. Seeley
The Warriors (2-5) will be playing a Seeley team that has given up a 404 points this season. Arlee itself can score too, they put 30 or more on the scoreboard three times this season. If quarterback Cody Sheridan gets rolling along with senior running back Zach Tameler, it will be a long evening for Seeley.
