Last night in Lake County Sports

Here is what happened last night (Sept. 3) in volleyball action.


Polson 3, Whitefish 2
Would you expect anything else from these two teams? Whitefish and Polson squared off in a weird scheduling quirk that had these two conference foes meeting in the first game of the season. The Lady Pirates were able to come away with a thrilling 3-2 victory on scores of 23-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-16, 15-7.

Ashley Johnson was the big force for Polson, collecting 21 kills and 14 digs while Shay Duford operated the offense with 44 assists.

Mission 3, Troy 2
The Lady Bulldogs tossed up 23 service aces en route to a 3-2 victory over Troy, 25-14, 25-14, 11-25, 24-26, 15-5. Jen Larsson led the Lady Bulldogs with eight kills and Ashley Courville had six service aces. Mission also got 15 digs from Sydney Allard and Loren Erickson had 13 assists.

Eureka downs Ronan 25-12, 25-19, 25-18 thanks to a 24-14 advantage in kills and a 36-22 advantage in digs. Courtney Clairmont led the Maidens in digs and aces.

Arlee 3, Noxon 0
With their senior setter Cortney Dix back in action, the Scarlets picked up a 3-0 victory over district rival Noxon. Dix, who sat out last week because of sickness in a loss to Superior, had 19 assists and seven kills in the victory while Becca Nelson had six service aces. Serving was a strength for Arlee, which collected 18 aces.

Charlo 3, Hot Springs 0
The Charlo Vikings improved their record to 3-0 on the season with a sweep of district rival Hot Springs, 25-22, 25-14, 25-14. Kinley Pope and Deondra Brown combined for seven kills to help power the Lady Vikings offense. Dawn Blevins had 15 assists in the match.
